I used to write frequently, then I decided to be a writer
But I didn’t just become a writer
I became an editor, a salesman, a web host, and a radio show host
These certainly aren’t complaints
But on my free flowing stream of words they’ve become restraints
Uncertainty lies around every bend
Constantly waiting amidst an effort to mend
Falling behind every day
A dreamer believes he’ll find a way
A grind few understand from the outside looking in
What could be a lifelong struggle I may never win
Progress measured like a hunter seeks his treasure
Diving in the ocean deep, walking backwards up a mountain too steep
Hang in there they say
Hold on and be frequent to pray
Believe there is a way
Write because you love it, or else you’ve already lost anyway
