Inspired by Frightened Rabbits, “The Twist”

Let’s pretend I’m attractive and you’re attracted to me
Keep telling myself I can pretend you’re thankful we did meet
But for just now I will try to believe
And when we can’t pretend anymore I’ll be sure to leave

But in this moment you’re all I can see
Lying in bed, mixed up, crashing into me
No ball and chain, but finally free
For just tonight- pretend this is where you want to be

When the sun rises, I promise not to say please
I may ask you to pretend, but I will never be on my knees
But let us enjoy this night as the full moon shines down through the Willow trees
Passion is passion but attraction comes in different degrees

I don’t ask much, but tonight it’s for your heat
Come morning when you leave I will not claim deceit
I need you twisting intertwined in me
Close your eyes and pretend I’m whoever you want me to be

I need human heat
I need you twisting off your feet
I need you like you don’t even know you need me
I need your lips to remind mine that this won’t ever be

So let’s pretend I’m attractive and you’re attracted to me
Keep telling myself I can pretend you’re thankful we did meet
But for just now I will try to believe
And when we cant pretend anymore I’ll be sure to leave
