“Talking shit about a pretty sunset.” Modest Mouse “Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset.”

By Kevin Alan Lamb

You’ve dawned upon my life and is this as good as it’s going to get?

Talking shit about everything in your shadow
All of a sudden it seems just one thing that matters

Sunsets will rise and fall
But some hearts trump it at all

I see the world through your reflection

Forgive me if I overdue this inflection

My hearts changed its mind so much I cant even trust it
But that hearts changed me so much I’m not myself with out it now

Talking shit about a fading sunset

Unlike love- this is as good as it’s going to get

A crescent in the sky, before it fades away

Try and keep you close– for just another day
But too similar to the sun– even what seems like love eventually fades

I find myself in this place with myself again

Talking shit about a pretty sunset
Too much like love I’ve come to regret

Too constant a reality I ought too expect

My heart’s changed its mind so much I cant even trust it

My heart’s changed me so much I cant even trust myself now

Night comes and the world closes its eyes

The cursed sun has blazed distant memories of shining blue skies

The horizon is no longer painted

The star-gazing romantic has grown tainted

Talking shit about a pretty sunset

Inspired and sampled from Modest Mouse.
