It was a big weekend for Dave and I. After going grocery shopping for the first time Thursday, we knocked out two more must haves at the house, a grill, and corn hole. If you’re looking to buy a grill, now is the time, Walmart the place. We shortly considered buying the shitty cheap grill, but settled on the 200.00 beast, quite the beauty. Making purchases is so much easier when you’re splitting the cost with someone, it’s like everything is half price. We hadn’t intended on buying corn hole, but it was impossible to pass on, giving us the double threat combo of beer pong and bags now in the back yard, lake aside.

A little bit of advice, if you ever buy a grill, ensure that it fits in your car, or else you’ve got a problem. After a few minutes of futile attempts to force the enormous box into Dave’s Taurus like car, I realized we could unpackage the grill and leave the box behind, it was a success. For the most part we try and stay away from Walmart, leaving grocery shopping for Kroger, but I must highly reccomend Allen in the Garden and Lawn department as employee of the month. Rather than charging us the usual 50.00$ for a new tank of gas, he let me slip him a 20 out back and call it a day. It was the second time in as many days that Dave and I and been given a significant discount for little more than being nice guys.

Pat and Mike own the liquor store in my front yard. They are great, more so Pat than Mike, since he runs the joint, and is 32 opposed to his 44 year old brother. He sold me a case of Monster for 25.00$ rather than the 48.00$ it cost. If you know me at all, it is not difficult to conceive the type of relationship I would have with owners of a liquor store in my front yard. I encourage all my friends to save their purchasses for Pat and Mike’s, while I unquestionably do the same. One of these days I will have to have them over for a drink, well at least Pat. The funny thing about Pat and Mike, they are not American. I am not sure where they are from, I guess that will be my next question for them, but it is clear they changed their names for everyday simplicity.

It was another great weekend. The sun was a no show so we stayed off the lake, but with another Notre Dame victory, some first time visits by Stratton and an old baseball buddy Ethan, a fantasy baseball championship, life is good.

I am considering starting an online masters programs at Gonzaga. My decision must come with haste.
